How to Apply

We welcome students of all faiths and beliefs who will respect our Catholic ethos.   The stages of joining our school are detailed below:-

  • Stage 1:  St Augustine's Y12 Open Evening  
  • Stage 2:  click on the links below to apply for a place at St Augustine's.  
  • Stage 3:  attend the Subject Taster Evening - come and sample a flavour of our lessons, curriculum and enrichment.
  • Stage 4: Friday 27th February 2026 - deadline for completing your application.
  • Stage 5:  TBC - deadline for accepting your offer to St Augustine's.  External applicants will be invited to look around the school.
  • Stage 6:  TBC-  Sixth Form transition day.  Spend the day at St Augustine's, take part in lessons, join in our enrichment and enjoy the flavour and vibe of the sixth form.
  • Stage 7:  TBC - join in the Parental Teams Meeting; we will talk through the process of results day and hence next steps into joining us. 
  • Stage 8:  GCSE results day.  Review your results, enrol into the sixth form.
  • Stage 9:  TBC - deadline for confirming your place at St Augustine's.
  • Stage 10:  WELCOME!  Start your exciting sixth form journey at St Augustine's. 

Subject Taster Evening:  this is held in the Spring term where students can understand the syllabus and method of teaching in greater detail, together with being able to talk to colleges, universities, Duke of Edinburgh specialists etc so that they can fully grasp what St Augustine's Sixth Form has to offer.

Apply to the Sixth Form - September 2026

The deadline for applications is Friday 27th February 2026

Interviews take place from January. Following these interviews you may receive a conditional offer based upon you achieving the following entry requirements: 

We offer three different pathways/programmes:
 

  • A-Level Programme (three or four A levels and/or other level three subjects i.e. BTECs)

For this pathway students need a minimum of 5 x 9-6 GCSE grades including English and Maths. 
 

  • Mixed Programme (one or two A levels and one or two other level 3 subjects)

For this pathway students need a minimum of 5 x 9-5 GCSE grades including English and Maths. 
 

  • Vocational Programme (two other level 3 subjects and up to one A level OR English/Maths resit)*: 

 For this pathway students need a minimum of 5 x 9-4 GCSE grades including English OR Maths.  
*Please note, vocational programme numbers are limited (see below).  
 

  • Students need to achieve the above minimum entry requirements for at least one pathway to be considered. In addition to meeting the entry requirements for their preferred programme, students will also need to have achieved the individual entry requirements for the subjects they want to study.  
  • All students will study Core RE, 1 lesson per week. 
  • In cases where a GCSE grade is required in the subject and the student has not previously studied the subject, the decision to admit is at the discretion of the Head of Department and/or Head of Sixth Form. 
  • If group sizes are not viable, the school reserves the right to not offer the course.  
  • If the sixth form and/or individual subjects are oversubscribed, admission will default to rank order of grades at GCSE and year 11 school attendance percentage.
