West Mercia Police has joined with forces from across the country to be part of the national anti-knife crime intensification week, called Sceptre.
The focus this week is on those who sell knives and the responsibility they have on ensuring knives are only sold to individuals of legal age. It is an offence to sell a knife or bladed article to anyone aged under 18, and to be in possession of a knife or any article which has a blade or is sharply pointed, or other offensive weapon in public.
During the week members of the public are being encouraged to drop off unwanted knives and blades in dedicated knife surrender bins to ensure they are disposed of safely and do not get into the wrong hands.

Please see information below with regards where we will communicate a school closure. We will only close school as a last resort. Reasons for closure could include:
1) Concerns around safety and accessibility of the school site, as well as travel to and from school
2) Unavailability of heat, light, power or water
3) Unavailability of staff to ensure that the school can safely operate - please remember that lots of staff live considerable distances from school
4) Unavailability of meals
In the event that school does need to close during a Public Exam season, these exams will still go ahead.
If we have to close during the school day, provision will be made to keep children safe until permission is given by parents/carers for them to travel home.

Today Year 9 visited Harvington Hall to learn about the history of Catholic Persecution. On the week of #redwednesday we are driven to act with agape, following the actions of the selfless love that homeowners showed towards Priests who were continuing to spread the word of God even in the most uncertain times. Students had the opportunity to go into one of the hides, debate topics and tour the grounds. Behaviour was impeccable as the student engaged with a difficult history with respect and reverence

Just a reminder, students are not permitted to charge their phones in school. This is due to H&S requirements.
Please ensure that students have sufficient charge before they arrive at school. As phones should not be used between 9.15am and 3.45pm, students should switch them off to preserve battery life on arrival to school.
